Chinese New Year 2578 (Imlek) falls on Saturday, 6 February 2027 under the 2027 decree. Because it falls on a Saturday, the government set collective leave on the day before, Friday 5 February, so workers who follow collective leave get a three-day break. 2027 is the year of the Goat in the Chinese calendar. Cap Go Meh, the fifteenth day of the new year, falls on Saturday 20 February 2027; it is not a national holiday but is celebrated with spirit in Singkawang, Pontianak, Bogor and other cities. Imlek has been a national holiday since 2003 and is now listed in the presidential decree on public holidays. In 2026, Imlek 2577 fell on Tuesday 17 February with collective leave on Monday 16 February, making a four-day break. The date follows the second new moon after the winter solstice and always falls between late January and mid-February.

Imlek in the Indonesian holiday calendar
Imlek is one of the sixteen holidays in Presidential Decree 8 of 2024. As with other religious holidays, the government places collective leave next to it when that joins a weekend. In 2027 Imlek is also the last holiday before Ramadan, which is expected to begin two days later, on Monday 8 February.
