New Year's Day 2027 falls on Friday, 1 January 2027. Because it is a Friday, the holiday makes a three-day weekend straight away, to Sunday 3 January. Indonesia has three time zones, so the new year arrives three times: at 00:00 WIT in Papua and Maluku, an hour later in the WITA zone, such as Bali, Nusa Tenggara, East Kalimantan and Sulawesi, and two hours later in the WIB zone, Sumatra, Java and West Kalimantan.
