Easter Sunday falls on Sunday, 28 March 2027. Good Friday, called Wafat Yesus Kristus in Indonesia, is two days earlier on Friday, 26 March 2027, and the government added collective leave on Maundy Thursday, 25 March. That makes a four-day break from Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 March, only ten days after the Eid break. Ascension Day, forty days after Easter, falls on Thursday, 6 May 2027, and the following Friday, 7 May, is a one-day bridge. Easter has no fixed date: under church rules it falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after 21 March. We compute it with Gauss's formula and check it against a second algorithm over a thousand years. In 2026 Easter fell on 5 April, and in 2028 it falls on 16 April.

Is Maundy Thursday 2027 a day off in Indonesia?

Maundy Thursday, 25 March 2027, is not a national holiday, but the 2027 decree makes it a collective leave day. With Good Friday on 26 March and the Easter weekend, it gives a four-day break for workers who follow collective leave.

When is Ascension Day 2027 in Indonesia?

Thursday 6 May 2027, forty days after Easter counting Easter Sunday as the first day. Ascension Day is a national holiday. The following Friday, 7 May, is a working day; one leave day there gives four days off. The long weekend planner counts that bridge automatically.

How is the date of Easter calculated?

Easter falls on the Sunday after the first ecclesiastical full moon on or after 21 March. Carl Friedrich Gauss turned this rule into an arithmetic formula. Easter always falls between 22 March and 25 April, and Good Friday and Ascension Day follow it.
