Christmas 2026 falls on Friday, 25 December 2026. The 2026 decree sets collective leave on Thursday 24 December, so the Christmas break runs four days, from Thursday 24 to Sunday 27 December. The Christmas and New Year season, often shortened to Nataru in Indonesia, continues with New Year 2027 on Friday 1 January. Between the two there are only four working days, Monday 28 to Thursday 31 December. Four leave days there give eleven days off in a row, from 24 December 2026 to 3 January 2027. For people travelling home and tourists, it is the second busiest travel season after Eid. Christmas 2027 falls on a Saturday, with collective leave on Friday 24 December and Isra Mi'raj on Sunday 26 December, so the 2027 Christmas break is only three days.
